GAUSS Young Actuaries Prize

To promote and motivate young talents in the field of insurance and finance in particular to deal with unsolved questions in actuarial science, the DAV and DGVFM award the GAUSS Young Actuaries Prize every year.

Since 1998, the DAV and DGVFM have hosted the GAUSS Prize for Young Actuaries to encourage young actuaries and mathematicians from Germany in particular to find new answers to current challenges in insurance and financial mathematics. The prize, endowed with 2,000 euros, is awarded for work in which problems and tasks of actuarial science are discovered and dealt with in an appropriate form. Submissions that bridge the gap between scientific quality and high practical relevance are particularly sought after. The evaluation is carried out by a high-ranking panel of experts from science and practice. The winners will be given the opportunity to present their work to a specialist audience at the DGVFM’s general meeting.

Submissions can be made each year until mid December with works in German or English language. Find our all details on the award’s website.
